230 tonner for Coussens

UK-based Coussens Crane Hire has taken delivery of a 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane.

The new model becomes the largest in the Coussens’ fleet, its previous flagship crane was a five year old 160 tonne Liebherr LTM 1160-5.1.
The five axle, single engine LTM 1230-5.1 features an eight section 75 metre main boom and a 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway for a maximum tip height of around 97 metres with a maximum radius of up to 76 metres.

Other features include the Varioballast adjustable counterweight, VarioBase outrigger set-up and monitoring, full remote control crane of operations plus the ECOmode and ECOdrive systems. In the UK the crane can travel on the road with up to 22 tonnes of counterweight on board, while the maximum counterweight is 72 tonnes.

The new LTM 1230-5.1

Director Paul Coussens said: "We are delighted to take delivery of our new LTM 1230-5.1, it will be an excellent addition to the fleet. It will replace our LTM 1160 as our flagship crane however were not putting this model into retirement just yet. The versatility of this crane coupled with our customers’ requirements and the backup we get from Liebherr mean that it makes sense to keep it in the fleet for a couple more years."
