American Rentals takes Cole

Californian rental company American Rentals has acquired Cole Equipment of Riverside, California.
Cole was was set up almost eight years ago, originally as a Volvo Rents location supplying earthmoving equipment along with aerial lifts and telehandlers.

The move is part of American Rentals' expansion plan that aims to have locations in each county of Southern California.
Founded nearly 40 years ago, American Rentals is based in Long Beach. The latest acquisition takes the number of locations to five - Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego and Riverside counties. Its fleet includes scissor and boom lifts as well as telehandlers from manufacturers such SkyJack, Genie and JLG.

Owner and chief executive Tony Murray said: “This acquisition adds substantial fleet and knowledgeable new team members to service American Rentals growing customer base. This is just one step in our expansion plans for the next 12 months.”
