Six City cranes for Schmidbauer

German crane rental company Schmidbauer has taken delivery of the first three of six new Tadano 45 tonne AC 3.045-1 (Demag AC45) City-type All Terrain cranes. The cranes were handed over in Zweibrücken by sales manager Hans Asam.

This type of crane is clearly quite popular with Schmidbauer customers as it already runs 18, 40 tonne Demag AC 40 City cranes, with a need for more. The company says that their compact dimensions make them an attractive proposition. The three axle AC 3.045-1 has a five section, 31.2 metre main boom plus a 7.1 to 13 metre off-settable extension, taking the maximum tip height to more than 45 metres. The crane’s IC-1 Plus control system monitors the outrigger set-up and slew position to calculate the specific load chart.

Schmidbauer’s Jürgen Rückel said: “In order to reduce emissions and noise in the future, we also ordered the innovative E-Pack from Tadano and had all cranes be prepared for using this environmentally friendly technology. That of course makes these machines absolutely perfect for indoor work and jobs in urban areas, but we’ll also be using the new AC 3.045-1 units for more standard work site projects. In fact, that’s the beautiful thing about these cranes: They’re easy to use, fast to set up, and incredibly versatile.”

Based in Gräfelfing, near Munich, Schmidbauer runs a fleet of All Terrain, crawler, loader and spider cranes from more than 20 locations across Germany. It also has locations in Estonia, Finland and France.
