60t Tadano for Polita Sollevamenti
Italian crane company Polita Sollevamenti has taken delivery of a 60 tonne Tadano (Demag) AC 3.060-1.
The three axle crane features a six section, 50 metre main boom and the company ordered it with the 8.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of almost 70 metres - the extension also has up to 40 degrees of offset. Maximum counterweight is 12.1 tonnes.
The crane can travel with up to 4.7 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads, or 3.2 tonnes plus the full extension. Where higher axle loads are permitted the crane can travel fully equipped within 15.5 tonne axle loads.
Owner and managing director Fabio Polita said: “We were particularly impressed that it has the longest reach of all the cranes in its performance class, combined with a remarkable lifting capacity of up to 60 tonnes and the compact design is a major plus.”

“Also, we did not want the crane to be without the camera on the main boom head for monitoring the hook block and load and really appreciate the on-board intuitive remote controller, which enables control of the automatic counterweight rigging system from outside the superstructure cab. However, the technology was not the only thing that tilted the scale in favour of the AC 3.060-1, Tadano offers great customer service and has a strong local team to support us. For me as an entrepreneur, this is just as important as simply acquiring a product that is a technological leader."
The new crane has already been out on its first job helping install a new crane on a congested site in the centre of Milan.
Established in the 1970s Polita Sollevamenti operates from two locations in Legnano to the west of Milan and Cunardo in the Varese.
