Klubb celebrates 20 years

French vehicle mounted lift manufacturer Klubb celebrated 20 years in business with a customer and dealer event at its facilities to the east of Paris last week.

Although the Klubb brand only dates back to February 2016, the company’s roots under the same ownership and management go back to 2002 when chief executive Julien Bourrellis organised a Management Buy Out of Time France, which Time Versalift had formed in 2000, after having acquired its French distribution and mounting company JF Degrémont.

Under Bourrellis leadership the business began manufacturing a growing percentage of the Versalift van mounted lifts until the point where it was only taking the turret and booms from Time International. Thus, the leap to manufacturing the whole lift itself was a practical reality.

Delegates from more than 20 of Klubb’s 50 international dealers attended the event, together with almost 300 customers. The event was more of a celebration for dealers and customers rather than a new product launch, however the those attending did gain a brief insight into platforms that are due to be launched over the next year or so.

More than 20 dealers attended the event

These include the new 11.4 metre KL26 and 11.8 metre KL32 van mounted platforms - Klubb’s best sellers with more than 1,500 units a year - which although they look the same have been totally redesigned to reduce the overall weight by 150kg using aluminium booms and a high strength steel frame, mounted on a wider range of chassis.
Lightweight versions of the KL38P and KL42P - with 13.8 and 15 metre working heights with articulated jib and two man platforms - are also to be launched. Many of the van mounted platforms will feature increased capacities.
Other new products include the KAT42/EAT14 (46kV) with articulated jib and aluminium boom, mounted on a pickup/small chassis. The first units should be available in September with full production by December. New fire fighting units will include the M180 and M210.
Also announced was the KT18PZ which with a working height of 18/19 metres, hailed as the highest reaching van mounted platform on a 3.5 tonne chassis. When mounted on an Iveco 4x4 seven tonne chassis the KT18PZ will have a 19 metre working height, 7.9 metres of outreach and 850kg cargo payload.

Several of its newly appointed dealers attended including the newest recruit Croatian aerial lift sales and rental company UpRent, managed by chief executive Sinisa Durdevic.
