Dutch crane rental company Schaften Cranes has started taking delivery of six 250 tonne Tadano AC 5.250-1 All Terrain cranes.

The five axle AC 5.250-1 - previously the Demag AC 250-5 - features a seven section 70 metre main boom plus an 11.4 to 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to offer a 93 metre tip height. It also features the company's IC-1 Plus control system, which creates the optimum load charts for the actual outrigger configuration and slew position.
The crane has an overall length of 14.49 metres on a 13.26 metre long chassis the crane has all wheel steer, with three axles driven, with an option of eight wheel drive. Deliveries will run though the third quarter of next year.

The deal is confirmed (L-R) Giuseppe Pompeo of Tadano, Martijn Tuijtel of Schaften Cranes and Uwe Schlicher of Tadano

Schaften managing director Martijn Tuijtel added: “We chose the AC 5.250-1 cranes from Tadano not only because of their outstanding quality, performance and acceptance in the market, but also because Tadano has significantly increased its service strength and customer orientation since the start of its OneTadano process in which we place a lot of trust for the future. As a customer, we will benefit noticeably from this gain and so will our customers. We are excited to take delivery of these first six units and are looking forward to further expand our fleet of Tadano cranes in the future.“

Rotterdam based Schaften Cranes and Van Schaften Leasing are part of the Van Schaften group which offers cranes from 30 to 1,600 tonnes and operates globally on 'bare rental' terms and conditions.
