No machines here!
A video posted this week looks like something from the 1930s, but apparently it happened in the UK this month.
The company Whitkirk building services said: “No machines here, just manpower and brute strength, I have a great team of lads that are willing to go the extra mile to get the job done whatever the task.”

You can easily see that if just one of the men had slipped, or there was an unexpected scaffold board movement or any issue at all, all 12 men could have fallen, almost certainly resulting in some fatalities or life-changing injuries. Can you imagine the grief, the number of lives affected, the fuss and the damages, not to mention the cost?
If we are not mistaken, a telehandler was or had been on site.
From what we can see in the video, this could be one of the riskiest examples we have posted?

It gets worse. Their instagram has them lifting the beams single wrapped, from a Telehandler, in the road with minimal traffic management.

If the HSE see this video the contractor (Whitkirk?) would face a full investigation and possible prosecution. What made them think that a) this is safe practice and b) they are proud enough to make this video public. Sheer stupidity I’d say.

Hairy: Rental rates are a mere drop in the ocean compared to the cost of being prosecuted.
