LTM 1650-8.1 for Błażej & Roman

Polish rental company Błażej & Roman Usługi Dźwigiem has taken delivery of a new 700 tonne Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 All Terrain crane.

The eight axle crane, which becomes the company’s flagship crane, will mainly be used in the wind power sector. It features a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. Błażej & Roman went for the four section boom plus the maximum 91 metre luffing jib, which provides a maximum tip height of 158 metres with a capacity of up to 12.3 tonnes at a radius of 52 metres.

The new crane handover

Co-owner Błażej Kasperski said: "We considered several criteria, such as size, price and efficiency, when making our purchase decision. Although the LTM 1650-8.1 is a relatively new model in Liebherr's product range, it has already received a lot of good reviews and is the most sophisticated crane type in its class. A crane with this kind of lifting capacity will allow us to reach an even larger customer base and realise projects that we could only dream of before".

His fellow owner Roman Kmiecik added: “The VarioBallast significantly increases the crane's operating flexibility, especially in combination with the VarioBase variable outrigger set up which, enables safe working even in cramped conditions. In Poland, wind energy has great potential. Due to the global geopolitical situation, the use of wind energy is likely to increase steadily, which will lead to rising demand for a mobile crane of this type,"

Błażej & Roman is based in Komorniki on the south west edge of Poznan, it was established in 1999 by Błażej Kasperski and Roman Kmiecik and works mostly in residential and industrial construction along with the wind energy sector, with around 34 employees. Today it runs a fleet of 15 different All Terrain crane models ranging from a two axle 30 tonner, to the new LTM 1650-8.1 which displaces a 500 tonne Liebherr as the company flagship.
