700t flagship for Pergamo Sollevamenti
Italian crane, access and heavy transport company Pergamo Sollevamenti has taken delivery of a new 700 tonne Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1, which becomes it largest – its flagship.
The eight axle crane features a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. It can also be equipped with a 91 metre luffing jib, for a maximum tip height of 158 metres. The LTM 1650-8.1 also features VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring and VarioBallast which infinitely adjusts the counterweight radius from 6.3 to 8.4 metres.

The new crane is handed over
The family owned business is run by Antonio Pergamo and his children Francesco and Anna Pergamo, two years ago they purchased a 300 tonne Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2, which has been largely used on wind turbine repairs in the mountainous Molise region to the east of Naples in southern Italy. Its experience with this crane, has it says, led it back to Liebherr for a bigger one.

Managing director Antonio Pergamo said: "We chose the 700 tonne crane to increase the maximum lifting capacity of our fleet and to be able to serve the needs of our customers.”
Francesco Pergamo added: “Our Liebherr cranes play an important role in our crane fleet because of their versatility, with the VarioBase outrigger set up allows set up in any space. This increases the safety and lifting capacity of the cranes.”
Anna Pergamo said: "We decided to purchase the Liebherr mobile cranes because we value sustainability, digitalisation and efficiency when renewing our fleet. Liebherr is the world's leading manufacturer of telescopic cranes. We already plan to purchase more Liebherr cranes".
