Terex RTs for Concord

Namibian rental company Concord Cranes has taken two 35 tonne Terex TRT 35 Rough Terrain cranes from regional distributor Goscor Access Solutions.

The TRT 35 launched in late 2021. Features a four section 30.1 metre cable synchronised main boom with the option of an eight metre swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of just over 40 metres. It also the Terex Operating System (TEOS) that includes navigation and T-Link telematics.

The first of the two cranes was delivered to Walvis Bay on the central west coast of Namibia for work at the port, mainly offloading fish from fishing vessels for transfer to the processing plants at the port.

Francois Smith of Concord Cranes said: “The Terex TRT 35 was selected for its compact size and manoeuvrability, which is needed to access confined spaces on port jetties. The crane is used extensively in the food industry which requires accuracy, high safety standards, speed, and reliability—which the Terex TRT35 provides with ease.”

Concord Cranes is part of South Africa’s Bud Group, which also owns Goscor, based it combines Castle Crane Hire, Elcon Crane Hire, Anglo V3 Crane Hire, Concord Crane Hire Namibia, Material Handling Logistics and Rent-A-Plant.

Founded 10 years ago, Concord has expanded at a steady pace, and now operates from three locations in Namibia - Okahandja, Walvis Bay and Lüderitz, but also works across a network of 18 other associate locations in Botswana, South Africa and Mozambique. At the same time the fleet has grown to include cranes up to 750 tonnes, aerial work platforms, and lift trucks.

Goscor Access Solutions was , last October, and also works through Bud group affiliates in Mozambique, Ghana, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland.
