UK’s first Grove GRT8100-1
Scotland’s port services group PSG Marine and Logistics has taken delivery of the first 100 tonne Grove GRT8100-1 Rough Terrain crane to arrive in the UK.
The crane features a five section 47 metre main boom topped by a 10.1 to 17.1 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset. An additional 6.1 metre insert takes its maximum tip height to 73 metres. Features include Cummins power with ECO mode and Grove’s Crane Control System.

PSG ordered the crane from Crowland Cranes at Vertikal Days earlier this year. It will be used to support dockside logistical operations for companies in marine, offshore oil, gas and wind energy in the Scottish Highlands.

Steve Clark of PSG said: “We have run a Grove RT600E Rough Terrain crane for many years, and it has delivered reliable and productive service. In particular, it offers great time savings with its pick & carry capabilities. The crane’s performance combined with the excellent support we receive from Crowland Cranes and Manitowoc UK convinced us to invest in the GRT8100-1. We couldn’t be more excited to be the first company in the UK to receive one of these models and can’t wait to put it to work.”
Founded in 2015, PSG is based in the Port of Cromarty Firth, Invergordon, and offers heavy lift and transport solutions, load in/out, assembly and port marshalling services to clients in the renewable energy sector.
