Spanish overload?
A Krupp GMK mobile crane tipped over onto a shopping centre yesterday causing extensive damage but thankfully not injuring anyone. The accident happened at the Costa de Azahar Commercial Centre in Benicarló, Castellón.
The crane was being used to place new concrete panels on the rear of the cinemas within the centre when it tipped, the boom crashed onto the roof which then prevented the crane from falling further. A Chinese restaurant inside was full of diners at the time, none of whom were hurt.

The crane tipped onto the shopping mall
The police are investigating the cause but initial reports suggest that this was a simple overload accident. As the cranes outriggers were not fully extended it is highly likely that the cranes overload device was not set up for partial outrigger extension?
