Irish rental company Balloo Hire has taken delivery of two 80ft Genie S-80 J TraX tracked boom lifts, the first to be delivered in either Ireland or the UK.
The lifts, which use the same four track concept employed on the smaller Genie TraX boom lifts, have a three section telescopic boom topped by a 1.83 metre articulating jib for a working height of 26.4 metres, and a maximum outreach of 16.7 metres with its 300kg unrestricted maximum platform capacity. The units have an overall weight of just over 13 tonnes. Standard equipment includes two work lights, a secondary guarding system and Stage V diesel power, while the four independently controllable tracks have a steering angle of 30 degrees.
Colin Magee of Balloo Hire said: “This machine is the first of its kind across the UK and Ireland, we strive to be the leader and at the forefront of innovation. Genie is known for its design and quality, and for having a focus on embracing technological advancements, safety and innovation. Our investment is providing a modern, reliable fleet that reflects our commitment in not only delivering exceptional customer service but also positions us strategically in the rental market.”
Established in 1987 and acquired by Briggs Equipment in April 2019, Balloo Hire offers a wide range of aerial work platforms along with telehandlers, forklifts, lifting and handling gear, general construction equipment and tools from locations in Belfast, Bangor, Lisburn, Ballyclare, Glenavy, Omagh, Dungannon and Dublin.
