Boss acquires Cowboys
US based Boss (Bennett On Site Services) Crane & Rigging has acquired the super heavy haulage fleet of Cowboy’s Services (CSI). It will also take over the employment contracts of related drivers and operational managers.
Boss Crane & Rigging is based in Houston, Texas and also operates three branches - Longview, due east from Dallas towards Shreveport and Kennedy to the north of Corpus Christi, for cranes and heavy haulage along with Palestine - between Dallas and Houston - for oilfield related services. Cowboy’s is based on the eastern edge of Houston.
Boss president Richard Miller said: “The acquisition of CSI Heavy Haul equipment and a dedicated team of specialists allows us to further expand our offering to existing clients of both entities and grow the client base into new markets with a focus on a more local and regional offering. We are excited to welcome operations manager David Moon and his team of specialists into the Boss family. The team has a proven track record of transporting specialised over-dimensional/over-weight freight safely and efficiently for many years.”
Boss is an affiliate of the family owned Bennett group, which was established in 1974, when Marcia Garrison and her husband ‘J.D’ acquired transport company George Bennet Motor Express, with its 15 trucks and 30 trailers. It is now based in McDonough, Georgia, to the south of Atlanta. It launched the heavy haulage division in 1989 adding the crane business in 2015. The current fleet includes crawler, All Terrain and carry deck cranes from eight to 800 tonnes, along with gantry jacks and aerial lifts.
