Fatal crane collapse in India
Reports are coming in of a crane accident at a cement plant in Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh, India last night that has claimed five lives.
The information is not clear yet, reports state that the cranes boom collapsed at the Ultratech cement plant apparently due to a "hydraulics failure."
We do know that five workmen have died and are identified as Purnachandra Pradha (28), Prakash Babu (30), Ravi Uday Pradhan (25), Rishikesh Pradhan (45) and Ramanjaneya Reddy.
Four others were injured.
According to the local police, the accident occurred while the crane was being operated in the raw mill section of the second phase of the cement unit.
