Australian rental company Skyreach has taken delivery of two new AlmaCrawler Jibbi 1890 Primo all-electric tracked self-levelling boom lifts.

Launched last year the Jibbi 1890 has a maximum working height of 17.9 metres and can drive while elevated up to 13.9 metres. It is equipped with a new chassis-mounted ultrasonic anti-collision sensor that detects obstacles on the ground while levelling up to 15 degrees side to side or front to rear. Maximum outreach is 9.92 metres with 140kg in the platform, while the maximum platform capacity of 250kg is available at up to 8.32 metres. The battery pack - AGM or Lithium - can be quickly changed over for a fresh battery in the case of long, hard working shifts. Recharge time takes five to 6.5 hours depending on battery type and size. The overall width is 2.2 metres fixed and total weight is 5.9 to 6.3 tonnes depending on battery type.

Skyreach is based in Caboolture, Brisbane in Queensland and runs a fleet of aerial lifts, telehandlers and fork trucks from depots in Sydney, Melbourne, Dalby, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns as well as Brisbane. It was established in 1994 by Rod Leech. He sold 80 percent of the equity to Nishio Rental All in 2016 but remained on board as chief executive and is still at the helm of the company he founded.
