The latest sale by Euro Auctions held in the UK at the end of April, saw 7,600 items from 600 vendors sold for a grand total of £53.42 million. The sale attracted 5,200 registered bidders from 24 different countries and included 600 telehandlers, as well as a good number of boom and scissor lifts. A few examples of the prices achieved can be seen in the chart below.
Scott McCall of Euro Auctions said: “In the lifting and access world Euro Auctions is gaining a reputation as a trusted disposal partner for used machinery. Telehandler sales now total over £7 million at each Leeds auction, with a very healthy mix of models and age profiles. This consistent choice at every sale is attracting a growing number of end users to the auction, driving prices up in many cases.”
“Sellers, working with us to utilise our in-depth data, can understand which assets will work best in today’s market. As an example, lower than average hour 17 metre and 14 metre telehandlers in the three to five year age bracket are currently very popular for Middle Eastern end users. The access platform category now regularly sees some of the world’s largest models sold, and in the April sale we had another 180 foot Genie SX-180 which sold for £105,000, following on from the March sale where a 58 metre JLG 1850SJ fetched £103,000. We had consignments from companies such as Nationwide Platforms, Sunbelt, Charles Wilson, Ardent, Powered Access Solutions, JMS Access, and GT Access.”
Euro Auction was established in 1998 and is Europe’s largest live auction for construction and agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, trucks and industrial equipment. It holds approximately 60 auctions per year with 10 sites in the UK, Australia, Spain, Germany, UAE, Canada and America.
