Loose crane wrecks cars
The loader crane fitted to a large truck operated by Star Autos of Bury swung free after the driver made a right turn, wrecking a line of parked cars but fortunately no injuries.
The incident occurred around 6:30 on Monday morning in on a The low-loader's crane broke free from its mooring and swung into parked cars in Rochdale Road, Bury, on Monday morning.

The swinging crane crashed into several cars and then hooked onto the car belonging to a couple visiting from Krimweg, Holland, and dragged it 10 metres down the road smashing it into two other parked cars,
The driver said he only realised the carnage he was causing then he notice a car trying to overtake him on the inside. It was one of those he was dragging along with him!
Star Autos specialises in the cross country transport of cars, the company owns 16 loader cranes, mostly Hiabs, and a fleet of specialist trucks.
It claims that all its drivers have loader crane operator certificates.
Police have brought in engineers to inspect the crane.
