More Groves for Bryn Thomas

UK crane rental company Bryn Thomas has taken delivery of four new 80 tonne long boom Grove GMK4080L All Terrain cranes.

The four axle GMK4080L has a 60 metre, seven section main boom with an optional 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset and manual or hydraulic luffing, providing a maximum tip height of 78 metres. It is able to carry all of its 19.3 tonnes of counterweight on board within the UK's STGO rules, which allow up to 16.5 tonne axle loads, or 13.3 tonnes within 12 tonnes axle limits, If the entire counterweight is removed the crane can travel with 10 tonnes axle loads.

The new cranes will be based at each of the company's three locations and follow on from the delivery of four 150 tonne Grove GMK5150XL's late last year and early this year. More units are planned for 2025 said the company.

Based in Flint, north Wales, the company also operates from five other locations in the north of England - Manchester, Liverpool, Scunthorpe, Newcastle and Durham. Bryn Thomas and sister company BJW Cranes run a joint fleet of around 70 All Terrain, city type and mobile tower cranes ranging from 15 to 500 tonnes. It also operates an industrial division with heavy duty loader cranes.
