Briggs Equipment Ireland is merging two of its companies in Ireland - Aerial Platform Hire and Blulift - which will now operate as Aerial Platform Hire, which will will also take over all powered access rental contracts currently managed by Briggs in the Republic of Ireland.
Briggs acquired Aerial Platform Hire in early 2022 the company was one of the longest established self-propelled aerial lift sales and rental companies in Europe, having entered the market in the end of the 1970s, becoming an official JLG distributor in 1980. It operates throughout the island of Ireland, from its base in Clane, County Kildare.
Briggs acquired Blulift later in 2022, which continued to operate from its facility in Mungret on the west side of the city of Limerick covering Leinster, Connacht, Munster and Ulster. Its fleet of booms and a variety of electric, diesel and hybrid platforms from Sinoboom, Genie, Hinowa, Dingli, Almac, Manitou and JCB including spider lifts ranging from 15 to 33 metres, will join the Aerial Platform fleet.
General manager Keith O’Rourke said: "This is an exciting new chapter for Aerial Platform Hire and I’d like to thank Briggs Equipment for their work in getting us to this point. Our huge fleet means we can meet the requirements of anyone who needs an access machine. We now have a large selection of lithium powered machines to go alongside the diesel, electric and hybrid booms and scissor lifts in our fleet. We also have a great range of telehandlers available.”
Aerial Platform Hire says it has further expansion plans, including the addition of more machinery and an upcoming facility upgrade.
