The UK rental association Hire Association Europe (HAE) has appointed Neil Bravery as commercial director.
Bravery began his rental career in 2004 as national account manager for Gap Hire Solutions. The following year he moved to SHC Hire Centre as sales director, leaving for a regional manager's job at Brandon Hire in 2007. Four years later he moved back to SHC as managing director acquiring a substantial stake in the business through a Management Buy Out in 2016. In late 2022 he stepped back from the day to day running of the business service as chairman until his departure this year as new owners took over. Bravery has served the HAE in voluntary roles since 2021, as chairman and president, and now as a full employee.
HAE chief executive Paul Gaze said: "Following a thorough recruitment process, I'm delighted to announce that Neil Bravery will be joining the HAE/EHA as our new commercial director. Neil's all round experience of hire and rental, his commitment to providing solutions, his passion for the industry, and his contribution to the Association are well known. He will make a significant impact as part of the leadership team in our 50th year of operation."
Bravery added: "I am honoured to take on the role of commercial director for HAE and can't wait to get stuck in. I have worked with the association for many years and the work that it does to support the sector is truly invaluable. Our more than 700 members are the heartbeat of the sector which holds up all of Britain's major industries, from events and hospitality to infrastructure and construction.”
Based in Birmingham HAE represents for rental companies at the lighter end of the tool and equipment rental market along with event and other rental sectors, with 700 member companies - mostly in the UK.
