Spanish rental company Aguado Group has taken delivery of a 700 tonne Liebherr LR 1700-1.0W narrow track crawler crane.
The LR 1700-1.0W is the successor to the 600 tonne LR 1600/2-W and is currently said to be the most powerful narrow track crawler crane on the market. It was launched last April - Click here for launch report and technical description the new crane offers significantly higher lift capacities and versatility, thanks to a high level of compatibility with the regular LR 1700-1. It is though slightly wider - 100mm - than the LR 1600 with a retracted overall width at 5.9 metres.
The narrow track model uses the same boom and jib configuration as the standard LR 1700-1 crawler crane and when rigged with the luffing jib has a lift height of 198 metres allowing it to handle turbines with hub heights of 170 metres. The VarioTray ballast system and V-frame are available with a ballast radius of 13 to 21 metres.

The fact that we have this crane in our fleet together with the Liebherr models LG 1750, LR 11000 or LR 1600/2-W fills us with pride and shows that we always want to offer our customers the highest quality standards."
The new LR 1700-1.0W has already begun work at the Cascante wind farm in Navarra, assembling eight wind turbines with hub heights of 119 metres.
Half of Aguado’s fleet is made up of larger Liebherr cranes, including the 750 tonne LG 1750 lattice truck crane, 600 tonne crawler cranes such as the LR 1600/2 and LR 1600/2W, and the 1,000 tonne LR 11000.
