Italian rental group Mollo Noleggio has acquired Sovecar group's rental division, taking it into the Trentino region of North East Italy for the first time.
The acquired business is based in Trento with branches in Isera on the south side of Rovereto and Arco to the south west, providing Mollo with coverage of the main business areas. They will become Mollo branches and be integrated into the group. The move takes Mollo’s depot network to 66 rental centres with more than 600 employees.
Sovecar was established in 1982 to sell and service forklifts, and entered the rental market around 20 years ago, initially forklifts but has also added aerial work platforms.
President Mauro Mollo said: “Mollo Noleggio wants to continue to grow by acquiring rental companies that are strongly rooted in their territory. For over 40 years Sovecar has based its essence on family, trust and professionalism, constantly working to offer the best possible experience to its customers. They share with us the same vision oriented towards growth, quality and customer satisfaction. We are delighted to welcome the team of the Sovecar’s rental division to the Mollo family, certain that together we will be able to develop important synergies and increase mutual expertise, with the aim of continually improving service to our customers and achieving ever more ambitious goals”.
“Sovecar customers will benefit from access to a wider range of equipment and services with access to advanced digital technologies and a technical assistance.”
Established in the 1970s Mollo expanded purely organically until it launched the current acquisition trail in 2022, since then it has snapped up seven companies, in addition to the one announced today. It is Mollo’s fourth acquisition in the past 12 months alone, which along with organic growth has added 13 new locations to its network. They include: Brescia based Albatros, Piacenza based Tecnostrutture and Tuscan rental company Edilservice.
Vertikal Comment
Managed by two brothers, Mauro and Roberto Mollo, the company appears be going from strength to strength as its it builds a national network to serve the growing Italian rental market. Do not be at all surprised to see the current pace of acquisitions maintained through 2025, coupled with solid organic growth as it consolidates its new locations.
