Italian rental company Berni Rent has purchased some of the new 16 metre Multitel MXE 160 articulated truck mount on Ford Ranger 4×4 pick-ups and MX210 3.5
The MXE 160 features a single riser topped by a two section telescopic boom offers maximum working height of 15.7 metres, a maximum outreach of 8.5 metres with 80kg in the platform or 5.5 metres with the maximum platform capacity of 250kg.
The lift has has an overall length of 5.98 metres with an overall width of 1.91metres and the ability to ford water to a depth of 800mm. The outriggers remain within the overall width of the vehicle, making it ideal for narrow streets etc.. The Euro 6d engine with Start & Stop, low pressure EGR and SCR systems minimise fuel consumption along with NOx and CO2 emissions. Overall weight is 3.1 tonnes.
Berni Rent was established in 2010 by Remo Berni and is based in Città di Castello in Perugia- due west of Sienna, its 200 unit rental fleet includes aerial work platforms, telehandlers, mini pick & carry cranes, loader cranes and forklifts, all of which are managed by a staff of 14, Berni’s wife Patrizia and sons Lorenzo, Riccardo and Gianluca. The company has recently opened offices in Umbertide (Perugia) and Sansepolcro (Arezzo).
As the rationale for buying the MXE160 Berni said: “The choice fell on this model because here in the Apennine area there are several small villages with narrow roads and very complicated historical town centres. We therefore needed a vehicle capable of moving over often rough terrain and in confined spaces.”
