US based Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging has taken delivery of a 300 tonne Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 All Terrain crane.

The six axle single engine crane features a seven section 78 metre main boom topped by a 12.5 to 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset and which can be extended to 35 metres. A 70 metre luffing jib is also available.

Based in Hampton Virginia just south of Newport News and across the water from Norfolk, Virginia, the company offers crane rental, rigging, heavy haulage, equipment storage, and NCCCO training and certification across Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina.

President Paul Prillaman said: "We chose the 1300, because it erects the same as the other Liebherr’s in our fleet, making it easier for our employees to make this new transition since it transports and assembles similar to our other cranes,”

Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging was established in 2007 when Paul Prillaman recognised the potential of adding a crane into his father’s tree care business. Initially using the crane for local jobs, Prillaman later began expanding the crane rental operation, leading to the creation of Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging.

Today its core customer base includes governmental facilities and military bases, shipyards, marinas, industrial power plants, modular home builders and commercial HVAC suppliers. Its rental fleet runs from a nine ton pick & carry crane up to a 400 tonne Liebherr All Terrain, along with boom trucks and telehandlers.
