Turkish rental and heavy haulage company Aydıntaş has taken delivery of two 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain cranes as part of a programme to build on the services it provides to the wind energy market.
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 features a seven section 85 metre main boom, VarioBallast variable counterweight and VarioBase outrigger set up and monitoring. The single engine crane features an Eco mode fuel economy setting and can be equipped with a wide range of lattice extensions including fixed pinned extensions that can can be extended in seven metre increments to 56 metres, or employed as a cable suspended 56 metre fixed offset jib, and an 84 metre luffing jib which can be installed on 47.8 metres of main boom for a 136 metre maximum tip height with 3.7 tonnes capacity.
Company owner Yusuf Aydın said: “To reach hub heights of up to 88 metres, we ordered a seven metre long extension for each crane and an 84 metre luffing jib these enable us to lift loads to hook heights of up to 132 metres. Thanks to their easy assembly, we can operate quickly and cost effectively.”

Based in Bursa, south of Istanbul, Aydıntaş was established in 1980 and morphed into the current corporate entity - Aydıntaş Vinc İşleri - in 1987. It now employs 400 people between its headquarters and four branches - Gebze, Bandırma and Biga in Turkey plus Erbil in Iraq. Its fleet includes cranes, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, strand jacks and gantries.
