Swiss rental company WS Skyworker has taken delivery of the first fully electric Manitou MRT Vision 2660e 360 degree telehandler in the country.
The MRT 2660e has a maximum lift height of 26 metres and a maximum lift capacity of six tonnes. It offers a road speed of 40kph and is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with the possibility to add a second battery pack or an onboard diesel generator/range extender that can keep the batteries topped up during operation or used for recharging during breaks when a power outlet is not close by.
The new machine was purchased through Manitou dealer Leiser.
WS Skyworker can trace its roots back to 1984 when a small rental company - Werner Spinnler imported its first work platform, a Denka from Denmark. Martin Vögtli acquired the company in 1995 and changed the name to WS Skyworker in 2002. Today it operates out of eight locations, with a large fleet that includes all types of aerial work platforms including truck mounts, trailer lifts, spider lifts as well as booms and scissors etc. along with telehandlers and forklifts. The company is currently moving towards an emission free fleet.
