Ahern Ireland, the Snorkel distribution facility located in Dublin will close at the end of March. Going forward the support operations for Ireland will be handled directly from Snorkel’s European manufacturing headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne. Key support staff will continue to be based in the republic of Irelan, backed up by Snorkel’s direct factory support team.
In a statement the company said: “The Irish market is very important to Snorkel. Over the last 10 years we have built up very strong relationships with a wide range of Irish customers offering great products and after sales service that is second to none. Over the last five years, Snorkel has supported the Irish market through Ahern Ireland. After consultation with customers and a review our business in that region, we have concluded that the Irish market will be better served by a direct sales & service route to our customer base.”
“Rest assured Snorkel Europe will ensure continuity of replacement parts and service support throughout the process.”
Andrew Fishburn, vice president of sales added: “Our UK customers already enjoy and benefit from dealing directly with our Snorkel Europe facility. Given its closeness geographically and the common language, bringing the Irish market back into direct contact with the factory will streamline communication and helps us provide a more seamless support.” I, along with my other Snorkel colleagues will be visiting many of the customers in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and answer any further questions they may have. We are confident that the Irish customer base will understand and welcome this decision.” Ahern Ireland opened its doors in 2019 and is located at a 2,286 square metre facility in Rathcoole, Dublin.
