New CEO for Uperio

French international tower crane sales and rental group Uperio has appointed Sébastien Desreumaux as group chief executive. He takes over from Philippe Cohet who continues as a member of the company’s supervisory board.

Desreumaux has been working with Cohet for the past year as deputy chief executive, having joined the business in November 2023 from Clipper Logistics where he has been deputy chief executive for the group for the past three years and chief executive of its European operations based in London, UK.

He began his career in logistics at the start of 2008 as operations director with XPO Logistics Europe, based in Northampton, England, moving to Lyon, France in 2010 to become managing director of its European Bulk business, and then sales & marketing director for the Transport division in 2015. In 2016 he left for UK based Hillebrand where he was appointed managing director of Hillebrand UK and in 2018 area director for the UK, Ireland and the Benelux region.

In 2018 he moved to UK transport company Eddie Stobart, initially as chief executive of its contract logistics operation and then group chief executive based in London, leaving for Clipper in March 2020.

Speaking of his new role he said: “I would like to warmly thank Philippe Cohet for his support during this smooth transition and assure the Uperio team in Europe and North America of my determination and full commitment to accelerate our leading market position in the tower crane industry.”

Uperio provides tower crane rental, sales and related services across nine countries and also manufactures Arcomet self-erecting tower cranes and the Opti crane for contractors, roofers and carpenters. The company was formed from the merger of Matebat in France and Arcomet in Belgium in early 2019. It employs more than 600 staff with a fleet of around 2,200 tower cranes from 25 locations worldwide.
