Bobcat has delivered 53 specially modified telehandlers to the Dutch armed forces, including the army, the navy and the air force. The units were sold through Apeldoorn based distributor Inter-Techno.
50 of the units were a mix of two models, the 2,500kg/six metre TL25.60 and 3,500kg/10.5 metre TL35.105L all painted in Dutch army green and equipped with a front and rear towbars, special blackout lighting, cameras, a block heater, a first aid kit and a weapon support. The Navy also took three 3,000kg/six metre TL30.60 telehandlers for its Den Helder base where they will be used for work on the quays and onboard ships.
Some of the other units went to the army’s Air Mobile Brigade and include extra lifting eyes for transport on slings under helicopters. For use in other regions, the engine cooling fan can be reversed so that dirt and dust are blown away above the radiator and the engine can be converted to Stage III, so that the machines can be used in areas where only diesel with a high sulphur content is available. Inter-Techno also won a 10 year maintenance and repairing contract.
A number of special pallet forks with adjustable forks that can also be folded when for transport have also been supplied..
