Fatal incident before concert
A man died yesterday when he fell from a trailer mounted lift in Leipzig, Germany, during the final preparations for a Nino de Angelo concert planned for yesterday evening.
The first police reports suggested that the cause of the incident was triggered by the fact that only three of the four outriggers were set on firm ground causing the unit to overturn with the man, a 53 year old stage technician, was wearing a harness with attached lanyard or not. He apparently fell from around seven metres.
He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his serious injuries shortly after arrival.
The concert was postponed until December 9th, and In a statement to the press Nino de Angelo said: "It is with great shock and sadness that we must announce that a tragic accident occurred today during the production setup for the concert with Nino de Angelo at the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig. Our thoughts are with the family."
