Aichi confirms first scissor order
Doornboss, the Rotterdam based crane and access rental company has confirmed a long promised order for 600 of Aichi’s new models.
The order includes 200 of the company’s new six metre SV06 electric narrow aisle scissor lifts, 200 of its larger sister machine the eight metre SV08 and 200 of the new 40ft and 46ft (12 and 14 metre) straight telescopic boom lifts.
So far we have only had a brief glance at the specifications, (See our Platformers days report) but the 40ft booms are simple telescopics, while the 46ft have an additional articulating jib. The superstructure will be mounted on a 4x4 or crawler chassis.
Dennis Doornbos said that the new Aichi scissors will take the company into a part of the market in which it has not specialised in before. The new models promise long cycle times between battery recharges and low running costs.
The new boom lifts will both add to the fleet as well as replace a variety of existing 12 and 14 metre boom lifts.
Once all of the new models are delivered by early summer next year, the Doornbos fleet will number some 1,400 units. The company has plans to extend this to 2,000 units over the following 12 months.
