Shaughnessy on the move

Steve Shaughnessy managing director of A-Plant Specialist Products is leaving the company at the end of October. When we contacted Shaughnessy he confirmed that he was planning a departure from A-Plant but would not be drawn on where he was going.

The word is that he is joining Loxam UK as managing director but this is pure speculation and we were unable to confirm this or find anything that gave us any comfort that this was anything more than a rumour. However we were also not able to dismiss it.

All Shaughnessy would say was that he would not be leaving the UK hire industry.

We hope to have more information early next week.

Shaughnessy joined the Ashtead group in October 2004 when he moved to the UK from Boston, where he was CEO of NES following its acquisition of his family owned cranes and access rental company.
