Finning adds director

Finning International has appointed James Carter a former president and chief operating officer of Syncrude Canada.
to its board of directors.

Finning chairman Conrad Pinette, said "We are extremely pleased to welcome Jim to Finning's Board of Directors. He has played a prominent role in the growth of Syncrude and in the development of Alberta's oil sands as well as the community of Fort McMurray. He brings extensive senior executive experience as well as an in depth knowledge of the energy business to the Finning Board."

Carter was named resource person of the year by the Alberta Chamber of Resources in 2005, inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and has received an Alberta Centennial Medal from the Province of Alberta.

He is a past director and chairman of the Mining Association of Canada and a director of the Alberta Research Council.
