Discounts for training
Wachovia Insurance Services has announced the availability of discounts of up to 15 percent on general liability insurance premiums to companies that adopt IPAF training for all of its employees who operate aerial work platforms.
The statement states that “the discount supports the efforts of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and Aerial Work Platform Training. (AWPT), its North American subsidiary, to bring internationally recognised training programs for operators of aerial work platforms to the North American market.”
In order to qualify for the discount, companies must require all employees who operate or occupy an aerial work platform to successfully complete an IPAF/AWPT training programme.
William J. Holler, vice president of Wachovia says: “Properly trained users of equipment can reduce risk and minimise the probability of accidents, injuries, and losses. The confidence in the effectiveness of this training program in reducing accidents allows the insurance company to offer a 15 percent discount off the general liability insurance premiums for all companies insured through our special program for aerial lift equipment dealers (rental companies).”
