GT Access goes with UpRight

Worth almost £1.4 million, the bulk of machines are X32 and MX19 electric scissor lifts.

According to GT Access managing director Jonathan Till, the new machines will replace between 100 and 130 older UpRight machines expanding his existing 330 machine fleet to about 350 units. Most machines will be delivered before the end of May this year.

“We are as busy as we have ever been, probably because we concentrate on the industrial rather than building sector of the market,” said Till.

“The new investment will slightly expand the fleet but mainly update machines dating back to 2000 and 2001. But we only re-invested in a new UpRight fleet after being completely convinced that UpRight Powered Access provides a first rate after-sales service.”

Other machines ordered through UpRight’s master distributor, UpRight Powered Access Sales UK (UPAS UK ) included the X27RT, X26 Narrow, X26, X33RT and SL30 Speed Levels.

GT Access has added a new depot in Redditch as well as expanding its depot in Gloucestershire.

Vertikal Comment

GT access emerged from Geoff Till Access at the end of 2004 after it went into voluntary administration. Since then Jonathan Till and his team has steadily rebuilt the business to give it a solid footing. See Till back on the road

The original company, previously a local Genie dealer, was one of many companies that ran Genie Booms and UpRight scissor lifts. This order represents an unusual full circle point following challenging times with both the manufacturer and the rental company having pulled through tough periods of major restructuring to prosper again.
