Crane falls on Casino
An All Terrain crane tipped over onto a casino-hotel under construction in North Bend, Oregon earlier this week. The crane was working on the Mill Casino-Hotel alongside Highway 101, removing an old firewall. It was lifting the second section of the wall when the crane began to tip, the operator, feeling the crane begin to go, jumped out of the cab.

The crane’s boom came down on the structure as well as a scissor lift working on the building
The accident resulted in a hydraulic oil spill, prompting a call to the North Bend Fire Department. Two fire engines and 10 firefighters responded. They contained the spill and turned the site back over to the construction workers.

The crane came crashing down on an area set for demolition, hitting a breeze-block wall, which was scheduled for demolition,
Scott Partney, the general contractor for the project, declined to comment until after the investigation is complete. The crane a four axle Krupp, is owned by West Coast Contractors of Coos Bay Oregon.
