Aerial lift fraud investigation
Three men were arrested in a series of raids in Hartlepool, northern England, on Wednesday following a fraud investigation in to Darlington Borough Council, which apparently hinges around the rental of one or more aerial lifts.
The fraud apparently concerns the council’s asbestos unit and an employee who left the council earlier this year.
Police reports suggest that the council was invoiced for the rental of an aerial work platform which was never supplied. The police at looking into claims that the money was paid for the rentals was then paid out to individuals.
