A challenging job in Zams, Austria involved the insertion of a larger number of 10 tonne concrete beams into an existing building. Crane company Felbermayer came up with a highly unusual solution, involving a tandem lift with a city crane on high blocks and another All Terrain crane, the two unloaded the beams from a truck and telescoped them into the building where a heavy fork truck took over the one end of the beam and manoeuvred it into place. We wonder about the rigidity of that high cribbing, and have to assume that the experienced planners form Felbermayer had secured them somehow?
