New divisional director for SkyKing

Mark Yarnold has joined King Highway Products as divisional director- access, with responsibility for all sales and after sales activities of the SkyKing division. He replaces Richard Bryant who is leaving the company for a new position outside the access industry.

Yarnold joins King after six years with Snorkel, most recently as general manager of Snorkel UK, and already has relationships with most of SkyKing’s existing customers and is a member of the IPAF UK council.

The appointment follows a reorganisation within King, which is intended to give added prominence to the range of access products marketed by the company which now includes Palfinger Germany, Palfinger Italy, Easylift and Almac, all of which have new product introduction plans underway. The GSR range, which has been part of the SkyKing product range for 20 years, will also continue to be supported, although GSR is now establishing its own identity in the UK market and working directly with a few major accounts. It will have its own stand at Vertikal Days this year.

Group chief executive Mark Carrington said: “SkyKing is carving its own niche within the group and continues to grow. With Mark Yarnold joining, it gives us a great opportunity to build upon our existing range with knowledge of other access opportunities”.

“We owe our entry into the access market to our 20 year relationship with GSR, during which time we have sold more than 1,500 platforms into the UK market, but in October 2014 we ended the exclusivity arrangement due to the growing importance of the Palfinger Italy product creating competitive pressures. We continue to support the GSR product in the after-market. Year on year access equipment sales have grown by more than 200 percent and King is reorganising to allow SkyKing to operate as a standalone division in order to keep pace with its growth”.
