Lifterz acquires Spider Rentals
UK rental company Lifterz has acquired Spider Rentals a small specialist access rental company in the Rochdale, North West UK.
Spider Rentals was established in mid 2011 by ex Loxam Access regional manager Liam Stericker. It services a range of markets from home owners to industrial and institutional and housing customers throughout the North West. It runs its own fleet of Platform Basket spider lifts, topped by a 22 metre 22:10, and cross hires from other suppliers. Stericker will remain with the business, joining Lifterz as divisional manager of the Spider Division.

At the same time Lifterz is relocating its existing spider lift business from its current base in Sutton-in-Ashfield to Haydock, where it will have a dedicated engineering and hire control function.
Stericker said: “In the last five years we have seen massive developments in spider access technology and capabilities making spider machines much more user friendly. As a result, they are growing in popularity throughout various industries. With their current rental fleet, Lifterz have seen this growing market and together we are aiming to expand the fleet further whilst ensuring that customer service remains our top priority.”
Lifterz director Malcolm Bowers added: “Since our acquisition of the Spider lift business from Ranger Equipment in 2014 we have been able to build our spider fleet of 23 units around a dedicated specialist team. Spider Rentals strive for the same customer service levels that we aim for. We are looking forward to having our new team in place and we firmly believe that Spider Rentals’ merger into our existing business will enhance our services and also result in increased benefits for our customers. Liam brings with him many years of experience in the powered access sector and will be a valued addition to our management team.”

Everyone realises you now run every milk float on the market, lifterz are not interested in purchasing Milkfloats!! They are a well established business that don't need to keep telling the world what products they run!!
I had the pleasure of working with Liam in the past and am certain he will make a big impact with Lifterz, and will be a brilliant fit with their ethos. We learned a lot together and he always had a very strong work ethic, always wanting to do things properly. We are learning every day with our Spider fleet and are starting to recognise the fact that they need specialist consideration on surveys, delivery, and handovers but can also command a favourable rate. I suppose that the service element is at the forefront of this sector, dump and runs certainly DONT work!!
