Working on a hot glass roof
Spotted on the Stratford shopping centre site in London, a man on a glass canopy who tires with his lanyard.
The man was clearly charged with cleaning a glass entrance canopy before the grand opening this week, but apparently got fed up with clipping his lanyard on each time he moved. So if the glass had broken or he had slipped near the edge, he would have been a ‘goner’ and the opening put in jeopardy.

In the words of our correspondent : “Whilst working at the large new shopping centre in Stratford London i spotted this guy doing an unbelievable act of cleaning a glass canopy without being clipped-on. At first he was clipping on to the supporting steelwork, but got quickly bored with that and in the end carried on walking in and out of the building opening onto the glass without securing himself.

So does it qualify as a Death Wish? Well it is not the worst we have seen by far, but given how high it is, and that he is walking on wet glass…. And the fact that he is wearing a harness and so just needs to clip the lanyard on… Yes a Death Wish.. our 202nd

Well said Bryan, very well said. For its not enough to see the dangerous incident like that depicted above, then carry-on walking past it. For if we are ever to be safe in the workplace, then we should always do something about such potentially fatal incidents as the act depicted above.
Moreover it is the Employer who is required to comply with the Common Law Duty to have 'Safe Systems of Work' , without which we are all put at risk.

And to where might he clip it?
More to the point - what did you do about it, had he fallen seconds after seeing him would you still have sent in the photograph?? Maybe, just maybe, you would have felt guilty of the fact that you could have saved a life that day!!
