Over the edge
Spotted by a regular reader on Instagram, a video of an incident with a loader crane and a large boulder at - we assume - a Shayan Stone, quarry or supplier in Iran. It was posted in January, we have no further detail at the moment.
There is so much wrong with the lift starting with the outrigger mats - or lack of them. But the real problem here is that there appears to be an overload that caused the slew pinion to shear allowing the load to take off with a catastrophic result. We can only hope that the operator was working with remote controls from the upside of the crane.

I feel like I also saw this before then in one of those crane accident compilations on YouTube - however I may be mistaken.
