Sims tower cranes for Maxim

US based rental company Maxim Crane Works has completed the acquisition of the tower crane assets of Florida based Sims Crane & Equipment’s tower crane subsidiary.

A key element of the move for Maxim is to “refresh its tower crane fleet, expand its product offerings and enhance its market presence” in this sector. The Sims fleet is largely made up of Potain cranes including the 16 tonne MDT 389 L16 flat tops with up to 75 metres of jib, the 20 tonne MD 559 hammerheads, with up to 80 metres of jib and the 25 tonne MDT 489 flat top.

Most of them are out working in Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tallahassee.

Maxim’s chief executive Paul McDonnell said: "This acquisition strengthens our commitment to delivering top quality crane solutions and further expands our capabilities in the tower crane market. We are thrilled to partner with Sims to complete this acquisition which strengthens and expands our capabilities in the tower crane market.

Sims chief executive Deborah Weber added: “We are pleased to announce the sale of Sims Crane & Equipment's Tower Crane fleet. This strategic decision allows us to focus our operations on applications within the industry that align closely with our mission and objectives. By streamlining our operations, we aim to enhance our service offerings and better meet the needs of our valued customers.
