Irish rental company Kavanagh Crane Hire has taken delivery of eight new Liebherr cranes, as it celebrates 50 years in business.
The cranes include six All Terrains ranging from a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city crane, with ‘Remote Drive’ wireless remote controller for all crane controls, up to two 150 tonne five axle LTM 1150-5.3s with a seven section 66 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre extensions. The other crane’s included two 60 tonne, three axle LTM 1060-3.1s, and a 90 tonne, four axle LTM 1090-4.2 featuring a seven section 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension.
The other two cranes a five axle, eight tonne MK 140 mobile self-erecting tower crane, with a jib tip capacity of 1,900kg at 58.5 metres with the jib in the horizontal ‘trolley’ configuration. The eighth crane is a 60 tonne LTR 1060, telescopic crawler crane with a five section 40 metre main boom.
Director Paul Kavanagh said: “We are delighted to have added eight Liebherr cranes to our fleet this year and we are set to take delivery of a further seven in 2024. Liebherr continues to be an excellent partner due to their versatility, reliability and after sales care.”
Established in 1973, Kavanagh claims to be Irelands largest crane rental company, with a fleet of 64 cranes with locations in Dublin, Wexford, Carlow, Waterford and Cork. Last December it acquired the Cork based Wm. O'Brien Crane Hire.
