Coke crane

Three men have been arrested after 3,000kg of cocaine was discovered hidden in an All Terrain crane arriving at the port of Moerdijk in the Netherlands last month.

The five axle crane was apparently imported from South America via the port of Antwerp arriving in Moerdijk in late June. The Zeeland-West-Brabant Seaport Police had been investigating a company in the Moerdijk port that imports heavy equipment from South America and decided to inspect the crane. As reported above they found the stash of cocaine with a street value in the region of €220 million.

As a result, it arrested three men found at the scene - a 64 year old from Oosterhout, a 43 year old man from Westmaas and a man from Cambodia, 32. One of those arrested is the owner of the company that imported the crane.

Another business premises in the port area was also searched, along with the houses of two of the men in Oosterhout and Westmaas, where a gun and ammunition was found, along with €20,000 in cash. The cocaine has now been destroyed.

One assumes that the identity of those arrested, and the company will be revealed when the case goes to trial.
