Chinese crane and aerial lift manufacturer XCMG has appointed Thomas Gack as area sales manager for work platforms in Germany, covering the Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria in addition to Switzerland.
Gack joins the company from Gacktec his own new and used equipment sales and brokerage business, which he established in 2017. He began his career in 1993 as deputy purchasing manager for Schmid Inlac prior to that he completed a technical training course at Mercedes and then trained as an industrial clerk. In 1994 he joined German access rental company Mateco as a machine scheduler, followed by taking on responsibilities for field service and customer service. After 10 years with the company he moved to the paint shop supply industry, returning to the aerial work platform industry in 2011 as area sales manager for Teupen covering southern Germany and Austria, leaving after six and a half years to set up Gacktec.
