Rugby Death Wish

A reader in the UK took the following photos in the town centre of Rugby on Saturday around Midday.

Believe it or not the road is open to traffic! And according to our correspondent it was busy, with a steady flow of cars, passing under the boom of the lift.

Not only is the machine less than ideal for the specific work being done -although clearly he may have also needed it for work on the upper levels of this building – but the way it is being used beggars belief. Oddly there are two men one in the platform and one on the ground.

Yes the traffic is passing underneath that boom!

The man on the ground is equipped with the standard Hi-Viz jacket but does not seem to paying much attention to the approaching traffic. The two are also equipped with a cone and a 'men at work' warning triangle, but they seem to be employed to divert pedestrians out in the traffic rather than anything else.

As to the man in the platform is he wearing a harness?
We cannot tell – definitely a Death Wish
