Terex Crossover for Guay

Canadian rental company Guay has taken delivery of a 73 tonne Terex Crossover 8000 truck crane on a commercial chassis.

The new crane features a four-section 38 metre main boom and an additional 10 to 17 metre swingaway extension with zero, 15 or 30 degree offsets. With a maximum tip height of 57.6 metres the crane is mounted on a 2014 Freightliner 114SD chassis and can travel with full counterweight up to speeds of 70mph. Other features include an X-pattern outrigger design, a quick-reeve five sheave hook block and an operator’s cab which can tilt up to 18 degrees. The crane went straight to work with on a construction project in the Montreal area.

Guay’s director of equipment Jean-Louis Lapointe said: “The Terex Crossover 8000 is a great addition to our fleet. With a few modifications to the chassis, we are able to meet Department Of Transport regulations, while carrying counterweight, rigging equipment, pads and tools. We’ve been able to significantly reduce setup time and transportation costs since we do not have to use an additional truck to move extra components.”

Based in Quebec, Eastern Canada, Guay has provided crane and general equipment rental for more than 50 years. It also offers lifting, rigging, and transport services.
