The notice period takes effect today and gives the CMA until 7th January to complete its inquiry and decide on whether to refer the acquisition to a full stage two investigation or not.
The key factors that will influence the decision are whether the acquisition ‘may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within the market in the United Kingdom’.
In order to assist with this assessment, the CMA is inviting comments on the transaction from any interested party. The deadline for submission of the comments is November 21st.
Comments should be sent to the case officer Rafia Saif either by email at
[email protected] or verbally via telephone on 0203 738 6932
